The first bitter I tried was Jiaogulan.  I happened to have the capsules on hand, but later when I bought the liquid bitters, and I've tried several different kinds, they had no effect on me and they didn't even taste bitter compared to the Jiaogulan.  So it was just a waste of money.  I now just stick with the Jiaogulan.  My husband says the powder tastes like he is licking an ash tray.

I don't use much of the powder so cost wise it doesn't seem too bad.  One capsule can last up to a week.

Just thought I'd mention my experience as another option.
