Re: Botanical nomenclature: fall from grace!

Sorry to hear about your foot pain. I often get vibes from people at distance and the words just flow sincronistically.

I can relate to calcification as my wife has Ankylosing spondylitis since a young age, initially misdiagnosed by doctors but under control now (thanks to our hard research).

If a foreigner asks about the best olive oil, I’ll swear my Country (Mediterranean region) produces the best one. By the same token, if anyone asks me who’s the best cooker in the world, I can swear my mom is the best… immediately followed by my wife. In my private guide, they deserve Five Michelin Stars!

Black cumin in my native language is “cominho-preto”.

“The very name “spice” comes from the Latin “species” with the meaning of basic or essential. […] the most momentous fact the trade in spices was the discovery of a new sea route to India by the Portuguese navigator Vasco da Gama in 1498.”

That’s it! You can’t ask a Portuguese (me) not to look for the best route for “species” or anything else, as it is deeply imprinted in our genetics to do so. As so, I sure know that Kalonji is from India and I can swear it tastes and looks just the same as the 5 stars nigella that I bought for a lot more. I guess if you ask an Indian…

Wish you well too. Please try to be less defensive and you sure look prettier when you smile. :)

Antonio
