- This is not a debate forum and my post (as the original) is just about nomenclature. I know that Hv is sensible about it as everyone should be.
"Well surely this is my fault for being nice enough to respond to you in an email rather than just ban you. As a moderator I can ban, delete, move or do whatever I please with a post deemed not suitable for the forum.”
- I have no hidden agenda. My only power is the freedom to use my brain and keep searching for the right products to keep my wife healthy and safe. As a consumer, my priorities are different from a seller’s perspective.
- As for being nice, I am the one who should regret... but I take everything as a learning experience. This one helped me to be even more selective. I only posted in your forum in two ocasions. I was not just polite and nice as I also praised your work and information. For instance, in the post you deleted: “Hi Sara, I am aware that Wikipedia has many springs of polluted water. I am pretty sure I have a true blessed seed. Thank you for the cooking instructions and recipes.”
“No one in their right mind would have used Wikipedia as a source of information.”
- You’re speaking against yourself. You should admit that you’re confused regarding nomenclature and translations as much as anyone.
Here’s just one link of several posts where you used and recommended wikipedia:

“Correction..."
"I originally stated that this was Black Caraway Seed Oil... HOWEVER, the English translation according to several websites state that this may be a misnomer.”
“Please read these two pages and be sure, if you are in need of this, that you get the real thing...” Sara. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigella_sativa
“I have no ideal why you are doing this and what you intend to gain, but you have indeed shown that you are not interested in learning about the proper way to purchase or take black seeds, but to cause more wars at Curezone. You will find I do not fight, I just delete.”
- Already answered above.
“Forget my last sentence to you, don't write in 2 months try 2 years.
Sara”

Ouchhh! I’m not angry… I just feel sorry for your foot! :)
Research is a good thing. For instance, now I always search for Kalonji seeds instead of Nigella. Altought they are the same thing, people pay a lot more if the seller calls it nigella or black cumin!
Kalonji: “These seeds are taken from the nigella flower. They are small, matt black grains with a rough surface and an oily white interior. They are roughly triangular in shape and 1 - 3mm long.”
Best wishes and Goodbye. I hope you get well soon!
Antonio
there are many who are unwilling to host anything but their own opinions, and when challenged, you get banned.
SO TRUE!!! I have been banned from numerous forums, not because of TOS violations as some love to claim, but because I dared to provide contrary evidence to their beliefs. If people were banned for violating TOS I can think of at least a dozen people including a moderator that would have been banned completely from Curezone for their numerous and severe violations of TOS.
The motto for Curezone really should be "It is not what you know, but who you know"!!!
I hope it’s still acceptable to post my doubts here at “The Truth In Medicine”.
I don't have problems with different opinions or debate as long as it is kept civil. Contrary to what a few people have claimed about being banned from this forum I have NEVER banned anyone for simply disagreeing with something I said. They were banned because they kept acting like jerks instead of trying to back their claims with any evidence.
I was banned just for placing the same question (and quotes) at other Curezone forum.
There are quite a few censorship issues with Curezone, which is one of the reasons I encourage people to research what they are told here, including on my forum. Much of Curezone is full of garbage information, and the fact that opposing opinions pointing out flaws is so often prevented just decreases the credibility of Curezone so much more. Good civil debates are some of the best learning/teaching tools available because it does encourage not only research but also presentation of evidence. Unfortunately, my experience of Curezone has mainly been filled with non-civil debate such as simply claiming I am wring over and over without ever bothering to present any real evidence to the contrary. Then there are the ones that when challenged resorted to the name calling, such as calling me the Devil or crude names, banning me for questioning incorrect information, coordinating attacks against me in clear violation of TOS, etc.
According to the private pm from the forum owner: “Sometimes asking too many questions will only confuse those who are avid believers.
So what if they are avid believers? Where would we be if the avid believers were never told the earth was flat? If they want to remain stuck in their false beliefs then they don't have to read any evidence to the contrary. But people should be allowed to see all views and research the views to determine for themselves what is true rather than being told what they can and cannot believe. Furthermore, if the evidence to their beliefs really exist then they have nothing to worry about. Their evidence, if true, will hold up to scrutiny. So the ONLY people who have to worry about contrary views are those who are holding on to false beliefs to begin with such as the "liver flush" supporters.
For that reason I have chosen to ban you from my forum until I see things change. You may contact me after 2 months and request reinstatement if you at that point want to support the forum fully and not be argumentative.”
Something else these power abusing moderators don't seem to understand is that support includes providing truthful information and clearing up misconceptions to protect health. For example, what if someone posts that drinking some poison will cure diseases, which I see a lot of on Curezone, and you know better? Is it "support" to speak up about the dangers to protect the person, or is "support" not saying anything to stay in the good graces of the moderator and allow people to injure themselves from the dangerous advice? Unfortunately there are to many people who want to redefine "support" to mean you support their belief system no matter how many people the false belief will injure.
Again, I hope this is not considered disrespectful or argumentative. If so, it will be my pleasure to leave.
As long as things don't escalate to personal attacks as so often happens on Curezone when people cannot respond with evidence.
Black cumin is not nigella sativa?!
From Wikipedia:
“Original black cumin (Carum bulbocastanum) is rarely available, so N. sativa is widely used instead; (in India, Carum carvi is the substitute). Cumins are from Apiaceae or Umbelliferae (both names are allowed by the ICBN) family, but N. sativa is from Ranunculaceae family. Black cumin (not N. sativa) seeds come as paired or separate carpels, and are 3-4mm long.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigella_sativa
I am well aware that Wikipedia is not the best place to look for accurate information.
So, I went looking elsewhere for the alleged original black cumin (aka Carum bulbocastanum).
For my surprise, this source says the opposite: Carum bulbocastanu is not Black cumin: “Black Cumin: “There is considerable confusion about this spice, particularly in the older literature. It is sometimes (falsely) referred to under names as Carum bulbocastanum or Cuminum nigrum. Until recently, there was only very little scientific data on this spice.”
But then, it gets more confusing as the same source says that black cumin is not nigella sativa;
Nigella Sativa: “There is a lot of confusion about the names of this spice: It is referred by a multitude of names which, in other sources, might mean something else entirely. In some English sources, it is called black cumin, but I think this is a poor choice, as the name black cumin is already reserved for another, somewhat obscure, spice from Central Asia and Northern India.”

Anyway, my search proceeds… An inquisitive mind needs to know. Sorry if some insecure people feels threatened about that.
One problem with plant identification is that multiple scientific names are sometimes used for the same plant. For example, Madagascar periwinkle has both Vinca rosea and Cantharanthus rosea as scientific names. To make matters worse, plants frequently share the same common names as other totally unrelated plants. For example, "sage" can mean dalmatian sage, white sage, sagebrush, etc.
Looking in to it though this link states that Nigella sativa is referred to as black cumin:

Again, this does not mean that other related species cannot share the same 'common' name.
