Re: four steps to authentic health

I believe for someone that eats fast food, drinks tap water, and watches 6 hours of television a day, the 4 steps you advocate will lead them toward vastly improved health. However, it is somewhat limited in its scope and may not lead to an ideal level of health in the long run.

For example, there are many experienced natural hygienests that do not agree with extended orange juice fasts, which de-mineralize the body. One of them is Dr. Stanley Bass, whose article is here:

http://drbass.com/aboutfruit.html

From my experience, extended fasts and drinking distilled water was not sufficient enough to chelate heavy metals from my body. Remember that the levels of mercury we are exposed to in our modern lifestyles are EXTREME and far from "natural" and thus our bodies means of dealing with them and storing them are unnatural (such as deep in the organs and brain). Natural hygiene in and of itself may not be sufficient to remedy the cause. If you are bending the "laws of nature" such as putting in 10+ mercury fillings in your mouth, you may have to bend the "laws of nature" in the opposite direction, using a man-made chelator such as DMSA for example. And someone will profit from your purchase, though not necessary having a "hidden agenda based on selfishness, solely for the making of profit". Although of course I am sure he is referring to typical medical doctors (who obviously deserve to burn in hell)

It wasn't until I did a round of DMSA that I really felt a difference in my bodies mercury levels. Bear in mind I have done many days of eating 10+ cloves of raw garlic, which is a "natural" chelator, have done extensive sweats, cleanses, fasts, detoxes, salt baths, essential oils, etc. and it still wasn't until I did DMSA that I noticed a pronounced improvement.

Of course your advice to read and research will lead to health if sound reasoning and wisdom are applied, however I do not necessarily agree that the best place to start is with those books and authors you mention.

Also, there is a logical fallacy to include 20 almonds a day into the fasting. The whole point of a fast is to activate the bodies deep inherent detox mode by not eating and minimizing digestion. For example the premise that "40 days into the fast your skin will release acids" is founded upon the reasoning that prolonging the fast leads to deeper levels of detoxification. If some threshold to reach this depth of detox needs to be crossed based upon duration, then surely it must also be based upon the conditions of an actual fast: i.e. not eating 20 almonds a day.

Regards,
Michael
