I wouldn't suggest that you blindly experiment with chelation. Chelation has quite a bit of risk in it, so it's better to do what other people have done successfully.
I've heard that there are people who use slow release ALA. They've said they only need to take it every 6 hours. I can't vouch for it since I've never tried it.
It's definitely important to keep the effect of the chelator going at night. I've had it happen to me where my alarm didn't wake me up to take a chelator in the night. I would wake up with a very bad feeling, which I now recognize to be the feeling of redistribution. You really want to avoid that while you chelate.
