Licorice and milk?

Hi folks!

Can someone explain to me the thought process behind taking licorice with milk and/or send me a link describing the concept and how to properly do it?

I'd like to try it but am having trouble finding info about it.... Licorice by itself crashes my blood sugar. Does anyone round here have experience taking it alone resulting in a blood Sugar crash and with milk, no blood Sugar crash? That's what I'm hoping to gather.
