Re: 5 amalgams in May, ill since July.
I didn't knowingly take any chelating agent and certainly didn't take
Antibiotics at the time.
The fact that symptoms onset so suddenly is my biggest problem with making a decision on what to do. The 2nd and 3rd weeks were the worst, since then it's been generally up and down. I'm physically a lot better at the moment although still feeling a general sense of malaise which itself is contributing to quite an unstable mood.
I'm not financially able to commit to the necessary dental treatment unless I can be very sure that it will make me better.
In favour of the mercury theory, I highly doubt (as much as the NHS wants to just throw prozac at me and hope I shut up) that this is just a psycological issue. I consider my lifestyle to have a 'healthy balance' of stress and relaxation and I'm generally a very sensible and down to earth person. I was actually incredibly positive through the worst of this in August and it's only more recently that I've been having mood disturbances, which I consider to be quite a normal response to the longetivity of the situation.
If anyone can suggest anything that may help enforce the argument that this could be related to my
Amalgams I'd be greatful to hear it. I've already seen some improvement taking the said package of vitamins, selenium and NAC.
Two more points that have come to light that may be relevant:
-I had a small bout of unexplained
Depression four years ago. It lasted for a few weeks and fizzled out. I put it down to a combination of work/uni stress and general 'growing up'. I've recently realised that I had 3
Amalgam fillings about 3 months before it happened.
-The five fillings I had in May were done in a hurry. This was partly my fault as I went in for them end-of-shift; the dentist asked if she could do three at the time and for me to come back at another appointment for the remaining two, and I asked to have them all done at once because it was quite out of my way to get to the practice. I swallowed quite a lot of
Amalgam during the procedure, felt extremely dizzy and sick (the 30 mile drive home was bloody awful!) which I thought at the time was because of the sheer amount of anesthetic I was given, although I've never been dizzy after anesthetic before.
