Re: Elemental Iodine
Lolite, thanks for reminding me, as NASA intends to send
Iodine on long space voyages, they have reviewed iodine. and they state our bodies require both.
But I have broken down potassium iodide, the second part of lugols, and it is nothing but, seventy percent elemental/molecular iodine, and potassium ions. Potassium
Iodide is useful for detox of halogens, Flouride, chlorine and bromine are stronger alkalizing agents than iodine, so they take an electron from the potassium
Iodide atom, and it then becomes iodine, very red in color, w/o potassium bonding. And the process continues until there are few halogens left, except iodine. after taking the electron from P iodide, the other halogens become something else, and are flushed from the body, If
Iodine comes in contact with potassium or sodium, it locks on and becomes potaassium or sodium
Iodide again. Our bodies are very capable of converting
Iodine to
Potassium Iodide or back again depending on need. Consquently if you wish to detox,
Potassium Iodide should be your choice, however once detox is done, then the body can use iodine to cause apoptosis in cancer cells. I took chemistry, but never majored in it. And know enuogh to be wrecklessly dangerous. david lubbock tx.
