As some of you know, I have been experimenting over the past months with using ketoconazole to clear up my sinuses, with decent success. Yesterday I decided to start taking it again, as I had a bottle lying around, to see if I could clean up my sinuses once and for all. 4-5 hours after I took the first 200mg pill--WHAM. I feel like I've been hit by a truck, sinuses-first. I had a sinus migraine by the time I got home last night, and all kinds of dizziness.
But here's the thing--I never had such die off from ketoconazole before. So I thought, what am I doing differently this time? Then I realized: Vitamin C. Ketoconazole is best absorbed in an acidic environment. I recently started taking lots of vitamin C--around 10g/day--in the form of ascorbic acid. So there it is.
At the die off rate I am going at after just one day, I can't imagine that my sinuses will not clear up 100% after this. Whatever fungus is in my sinuses is getting wiped out. So to any of you who plan on trying ketoconazole: don't forget your vitamin C! As much as you can handle.
