electrolytes

I thought i would share this since I don't see electrolytes mentioned much in this forum.

I had posted a few months ago that I had to take a strong dosage of Antibiotics and that in the past they had always wiped me out. With that in mind, I pumped myself up with heavy duty probiotics during and well after the treatment. Unfortunately, I still got nailed with the fatigue and lethargy, confusion and mood swings and especially polyuria (peeing way too much). (mind you, I am almost 3 years post, and doing pretty good except for the fatigue). I looked up Antibiotics to see what else they could cause besides flora issues, and discovered they can cause electrolyte imbalances. For those of you who have done their research, birth control also messes with our electrolytes. When I had the Mirena in, my chloride level was always off, but the quack I used to see ignored it. Last week I went to my doc and she order a full electrolyte panel for me. I was just diagnosed with low blood sodium, which is crazy to me-I am a salt fiend.

Electrolyte imbalance has a great number of symptoms that are some of the most common complaints on this forum. If you haven't had them tested I would recommend it. And look at the numbers yourself, don't take the doc's word for it unless you really trust them (like I trust mine).
