Re: chelation

Cutler recommends DMSA first for a few months and then DMSA and ALA combined after that. He does say it's possible for people to take only ALA for chelating, and a number of people do this because DMSA is so expensive (or they react badly to DMSA). If it's not too expensive, I recommend DMSA for at least part of chelating since it's known for helping with a variety of metals, and it's often hard to know all of the metals we have been exposed to during the course of our lives.

what your chiropractor suggested is one possible schedule for DMSA use. Did he tell you to take it every 4 hours, including waking up in the middle of the night to take it again? That's the way to chelate in order to prevent redistribution. I found the 3 days on and 11 days off actually worsened my reaction when I restarted after the break. 3-5 days on and 3-5 days off was much better for me.

Also, his 2 months is too optimistic. I would plan to continue for longer than that. It took me 6 months (actually using cilantro and chlorella) just to feel better. It's taken me several years to get to a point where I feel like I won't have to do this much longer. It varies for everyone though.
