Re: Eastern red cedar berry?

Hi Beth,

I don't think I'm the help you are looking for, but I have a few thoughts. You might already have read this:

http://www.herballegacy.com/Pancreas.html

I have also read, just now, that it is best not to use the red cedar berries *unless you are going to eat within half an hour*, they lower the blood Sugar that much. For someone with hypoglycemia, this would seem relevant. Myself, I'm not altogther clear on the fine distinctions between berries: juniper and cedar: number of stones is one marker.

I like to add juniper berries to kombucha, to give it a second steeping. Quite delicious, a bit resin-y. Feels very good in the humid summer especially, when one seems to retain water.
