Thank you both so much for your replies!

I looked up natural sources of Magnesium:

Natural Sources of Magnesium. Whole grains, nuts, legumes, dark leafy vegetables, shellfish, figs, lemons, grapefruit, yellow corn, almonds, seeds, apples, ...

So maybe this says I'm simply not eating enough. I read a lack of Iodine can cause a decrease in digestive juices and appetite?

So, the chicken and the egg.

I will certainly be looking into supplementation as well.
