Coeliac Disease....

Hi everyone

Just a thought. I was diagnosed as a Coeliac about 2 years ago. I sort of self-diagnosed myself about 2 1/2 years ago when I had the worst pains after eating wheat or wheat by-products, then I would bloat like I was 6 months pregnant, then of course, 2 hours later - running to the toilet! So I did some research and thought I was gluten intolerant. So I eliminated all wheat and wheat products from my diet and cured myself.

When I accidentally had wheat I would suffer very badly, even if it was a trace amount.

Now, I just had a thought, I haven't had any symptoms since I had the Mirena out, although I am careful, occassionally a bit of wheat will slip through somehow, even cross contamination from somewhere. I am scared to try even a little bit, but perhaps - could it possibly be Mirena related??? Even a small amount causes horrible pains and running to the loo.

Is there a small chance that Mirena mimicked my gluten intolerance somehow? I miss normal bread so much, and I miss out on so many wonderful foods (gluten free bread is horrible).

Just wondering......

By the way, the doctor did diagnose me as being Coeliace but didnt actually do any blood tests, he said my symptoms were proof enough....

Thoughts anyone?
