Why do I get gas *after* a BM?

Hello folks,

I'm just wondering if this is 'normal':

If I have a good bowel movement in the morning (e.g. I feel like my bowels are completely empty), I often find that 10-20 minutes or so later my stomach starts to fill-up with gas - lots of gas - to the extent that my lower abdomen inflates like a balloon.

If I massage/squeeze my stomach and try to pass the wind (it seems endless...), I hear and feel a lot of 'gurgling' going on inside.

In my mind, I've cleared out my bowels, I haven't had breakfast yet (i.e. there is no food/drink in my stomach), so why the gurgling/jostling, and what is producing the gas if there is nothing in there digesting?

Could this be related to candida, parasites, or leaky gut etc.?

J
