Gotta Get Blood Pressure Down For DOT Physical.

My husband is trying to pass his DOT physical for a job. The only job opportunity he has I should add. I searched and came up with this exact same problem that was posted before:

The really frustrating thing is my husband can get it down at home with a multitude of supps and meds, but once he gets to the office, he gets anxious and it goes up.
At home we get it down with Lisinopril, Hawthorn, Vit E, fish oil, and Coleus. The reading this morning was 127/78 then we get to the doctors office where the physical is being done and it jumped up to 160/96.

We get back home and it goes back down to 119/67.
My husband took 4 capsules of Coleus along with 2 Hawthorn, 40 mg lisinopril, magnesium and 1 capsule of Glycine to see if that would help him relax. He can relax fine at home, but once we get to the Dr. office it seems all effects of what he has taken are gone.

He does have some metaprolol from a while back when he was taking it and he may consider taking it just to see if it would help him pass the test, but he also has a fear of taking it again. I don't want him on these meds long term either and once this is over we are hoping to keep it under control with just herbs and exercise. And eating healthier too. High blood pressure runs in his family and apparently so does the disposition that causes nervousness and the white coat syndrome.

I wanted to post our problem here because it seems to be fairly common.

The Coleus really does seem to help lower the blood pressure significantly at home. We tried it with Nettle and that seemed to make it (the BP) go up a little. And like I said all effects from the supplements or the BP meds were null at the office.
All I can think of now is that maybe the beta blocker will somehow block some of the adrenaline caused by the anxiety that causes the white coat syndrome. He gets it bad enough that things that are mildly calming won't help enough.
Any suggestions or comments are welcomed.
This also goes to show you how stress is bad for your body.
