Please advise about DENGUE

Hi,

My husband is in the hospital in Pakistan. I am home in the U.S. He is hospitalized with dengue fever. I am not able to talk to him, so I do not know what form of dengue he has. All kinds of fever are common in Pakistan, especially at this time of year, and at first he didn't know it was dengue. I was talking to him when he first started to feel bad. He is in love with patent medicine, I just can't get him to stop taking some commercial, over-the-counter medicine when he gets sick. When he first started to have a fever, he was taking lots of ibuprophin. I told him not to, but he won't listen. No only do I think it's bad in general, it turns out that it is bad in particular for dengue, as it can increase the risk of bleeding.

As I can't talk to him now, I don't know if he has hemorrhagic petichiae (sp)or any other complications, but for sure it was worse than it had to be because of the ibuprophin.

I think he will come home (to NY) as soon as possible after he gets out of the hospital. Here's my question: What are the best foods/supplements/practices to recover after something like this? Please bear in mind that he is never going to do anything like liver flushing, but I can get him to take supplements, herbal teas (if I make them and give them to him), and I can feed him just about anything except pork.

I've looked online and I can't find anything about this. I have a relative who had it a few years ago, and I know all about it, so my question is not about transmission, symptoms, etc.
