Re: Baby is the New Al Qaeda of Jordan

Yes, I remember feeling the same way when mine were kittens. Especially when they started climbing the drapes and jumping on top of counters and wreaking havoc until they ran out of energy. Or waking me up in the middle of the night!! If they start to get into trouble, throw a wadded up piece of paper on the floor, that'll keep them busy and they'll forget the countertop -- for a while, anyway.

We had hurricane Irene come through on Saturday and blow a tree down right on our power lines. We still have the live (we think) power lines draped over our back fence. The whole neighborhood lost power. There are still streets with power lines draped on the rode or 5 feet over the rode. We still don't have power, though parts of the neighborhood finally do. We got a generator on Saturday, so at least we have lights and fans running and the food in the fridge didn't go bad. We have extension cords snaking all through the house!

I've spent the last few days on the couch with my leg propped up. I sprained my knee in a fall the week before last and made it worse by walking up and down the stairs and walking up our street Saturday (in the wind and rain) calling for our cat, Bounder, who decided to take off in the storm (he came home safe and sound later that evening during the worst of the hurricane). I went to a knee doc and had x-rays done. Nothing was broken or torn, there is swelling and inflammation. The doc told me to stay off of it. But I do have a bit of arthritis -- I guess I'm getting old. I've felt like a princess the last few days on the couch getting my daughter to fetch stuff for me. My knee is feeling better because of the rest, so it is getting better.

The power company insists it will keep working through the Labor Day weekend to get everyone's power up. I hope so, my daughter goes back to school on Tuesday. We're running out of clean clothes!!! It was supposed to start last week, but the school didn't have any power due to the hurricane.

Hopefully Baby will mellow out and resort to hisses and dirty looks when the kittens get older.

Glad to here you and your fur kids are well!!
