They don't harden if they're cholesterol stones. Even calcified stones aren't a problem even if they're hard. A lot of people here flush without preparation and have great results. I think what mostly happens during the prep is that they get un-clumped and easier to move out. some might get softer but I wouldn't worry about the duration of that. Tweet
