Electrified Water

I have a aquaponics unit at my home. there is a small 50W pump to pump water to the filter. I get a small shock from the water when I touch it not much more than that of static shock in your car.

while I can take chemical test with no problem I cannot test the water with my Milwaukee CD-97 Hi-Tech TDS Meter w/ATC. It always reports an error when I use it to test the water from the aquaponic unit. I can check my tap water, bottled water and distilled water but it wont test the water from the aquaponic system.

I have let the water sit in a beaker for 30 days and it still wont read the water.

When the water is electrified will it keep a charge in it that long? and why?

is the electrified water a form of electrolysis or charged water?
