Re: Cholesterol, mine has gone up (DONT WORRY ABOUT IT)
From my research i do not believe people should be concerned with cholesterol levels or take cholesterol lowering drugs, as these drugs are ineffective and have many other side-effects. I say this due to research and knowing first hand how someone in my family was given medication then required more medication to correct problems caused by the orginal medication. Did you know that as many people die from heart attacks with high cholesterol levels as they do with low cholesterol levels.
The drugs people take often lower cholesterol levels in the blood but do not remove the plaque attached to the arterial walls. Vitamin c is very important for stabalising the arterial wall, and lysine + proline have been shown to remove plaque deposits. Plaque deposition intitially occurs as the arterial walls are not stable, the book why animals dont get heart attacks but people do discusses this. Sudden heart attacks often occur not due to 100% blockages of the artery, but because some plaque breaks off and then blocks an artery further down. Taking 1000mg vitamin c daily has been shown to dramatically cut the risk of sudden heart attacks due to its stablising effects on the arterial wall.
If you look at the numbers heart attacks have not decreased with the introduction of cholesterol lowering drugs, however they have decreased with the increased uptake of vitamin c. this link shows a short video about this

Have a look at this link and click on cholesterol on the left for more info, including how the drug companies themselves have basically admitted that cholesterol lowering drugs do not work.

My view is that cholesterol is a phobia promoted by the drug companies so they can sell you a drug for it, create problem - public reacts - give solution = profit(problem, reaction, solution)
