Re: My Story Adrenals, Mental, ADD, CFS, alternative treatments?

My sister had a lot of the same symptoms. First she had IBS for 3 years. Next came thyroid issues, lupus panniculitus. It was 13 years before the thyroid issues was recognized as Hashimoto's...she has taken numerous supplements over the years. They helped to keep her going but nothing really got her back to normal until about 11/2 months ago.

It was metabolic/systemic enzymes..taken on an empty stomach twice a day, a couple of hours or longer away from meals. I can't begin to tell you the difference they made. She still takes some supplements that address healing the digestive tract and inflammation. She tries to keep her diet free from processed or highly refined foods. Mostly gluten-free at this point. She had been doing all the above except for the enzymes with moderate success, but since then, it's like she is a new person.

The way we understand it..the enzymes, when taken on an EMPTY stomach are able to repair damage that's been done to the body instead of being used for digestion, which they are good for that too and can be taken at meal times as well. They seem to enhance the benefits of whatever supplements you are taking and according to some articles, possibly enable a person to reduce the amount of supplements they need.

I can't emphasize enough the transformation my sister went through. Her brain is functioning better, she doesn't have panic attacks anymore, less OCD, more energy...the list goes on. You'll need to do some research on them. We don't think they're created equal. She had tried some enzymes in capsule form and they didn't have the same effect as the powder form she is now taking.

In any case, wish you the best.
