Re: What kind of marketing are you paying for and why?

Ya know... I've never had an iud, certainly not the Mirena.. but if your desire is to reach women, then shutting it down does the opposite. If the site has good information, then women will find the site. Why not just leave the site up and follow the famous line from that Kevin Costner movie 'The Field of Dreams': "If you build it they will come." Maybe someone will come along and take on the website and help it grow. The site has only been around since 2009. Each day another woman is getting that dam*ed device inserted. These women are not being told the truth by the manufacturer or their doctor. They need this forum and your website.

There's another website I'd like to tell you about. Stop The Thyroid Madness website began as a yahoo group on Natural Dessicated Thyroid by a woman completely debilitated by poor treatment of hypothyroidism. Her remarkable turnaround on Armour was nothing short of miraculous. Her website went up in 2005. In 2007, I stumbled across her site looking for answers to my intractable insomnia. She'd had answers for me. She helped me find a doctor. Her site is now mentioned here on curezone and other sites where people complain about fatigue or common hypo symptoms and are told by their doctor that they can't be hypo, their TSH is normal. She has informed us better than medical schools have informed doctors about hypothyroidism. She runs the site herself, but she REACHES people. And she is a beacon of hope for people who are tired and sick and need answers. But it took time. If she had given up her website 2 years after she launched it, I never would have found it. I'm glad that Janie became my advocate and helped me. I'm glad Janie did not give up and close up shop.

If you give up your website because it's not matching your vision, that would be a shame. Think of all those women with the Mirena with symptoms that their doctors insist it can't possibly be the iud. Because your site is no longer up, they may never learn that yes, it is the iud, they will just continue to suffer. Their marriages will suffer, their children will suffer. Please don't let these women down.

I'll be stepping off my soapbox now -- good night.
