Re: Is the medical conspiracy greater then oil?
Letti -
I am not sure this is in reponse to my post above, but I will reply to your concerns about drug prices anyhow.
K
You should see that these drugs prices are less than half in Canada, compared to your cheapest source in America! how can they make money at less than half? Because they are charging you about 300% more than they need to... after all, they are still making a profit on Canadian prices!!!
Figure it out, you are being gouged, and your government will not step in despite the fact that the drug companies have a total monopoly until the patents come off, a step that your government set up for them in the first place.
Oh ya, "to recover the research costs". "It costs millions to get a new drug developed, approved, etc." is their defence. But then I read where government funded research is where many of the discoveries are made, like the recent one where an enzyme was disovered by the NIH [National Instititue for Health], a govt. funded group. Then the drug companies figured out how to produce the enzyme, at a relatively small cost, and sent the drug to market at the highest prices they could get.
So its not true really, not even if you spread alllll the risks and high cost of development out and see if they were recovered -
- the drug compaines are making higher and higher profits every year, this one no exception. They have not had a losing year in ages.
They get what they can, despite the great human tragedy of not being able to afford the pills for many, and sending many into financial hardship to pay for a drug.
They do this by patents, monopoly, and regulations set up in their favour. Why does government allow this to continue when it clearly is in the best interests of the citizens of America to have more competition, and fairer rules and regulations? - BECAUSE THE DRUG COMPANIES ARE THE BIGGEST SUPPORTERS OF BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES.
They pay for it.
Come to Canada to get your pills.or better yet, try to find the NON-PATENTED alternatives to these pills. There is otften a more effective and chaeper way to address health problems. Tell me yours, and I will suggest an effective alternative that has no patent, they are out there.
Patented VS non-patented medical therapies is the battleground. Try to find a non-patented therapy in mainstream medicine, and you won't be able to - isn't that just too much of a
co-incidence? All doctor prescriptions are patented, in spite of the human body not changing since the time when all therapies were NON-patented [some of them must have worked well!].
Remember, They create the Problem, and then offer the Solution.
