At what point do you HAVE to have surgery?

Hi there,

I am brand new to this wonderful group. I have recently had 5 "gallbaldder" attacks, two of which landed me in the hospital, and another that was acute pancreatitis. My liver enzymes are elevated, too. I was referred to a surgeon, who said my gallbladder has to come out on Friday. For the past week I have been eating a very plain diet, and have been supplementing, and have had no attacks. I do feel pretty ill, though. I would like to take some time trying alternative remedies--i.e. supplements, flushes, diet, and exercise. But the surgeon said it was dangerous to wait. I am not sure I trust him, because I know gallbladder surgery is big business. What does everyone think? I really do NOT want surgery, but am I so far gone that there is no other choice? I am in great health otherwise. Thank you so much for your input.
