My lips would get progressively dryer and thicker. After three days it was necessary to peel off the dry skin, which was easy. Most of it would be loose by that day (air pockets underneath with torn, lifted edges). Then I would hope that the cycle would stop, that my lips would stay smooth, but they wouldn't. Sometimes I would peel the dry skin off after only two days but they always ended up a bleeding mess.

When I tried not touching them at all, for a month. The dry skin just kept on building up to the point where it was as if I had cornflakes covering my lips, with bits hanging off here and there, but I resisted touching them at all for the sake of the experiment.
