Is my diarrhea caused by parasites?

I have had explosive diarrhea for almost 3 weeks. Some clear very long mucous type things have come out at times. I have no idea if this is a parasite or not. It is fragile, when I try to pick it up from the water it breaks in half. The parasite cleanses I read about like paragone from new life read that you cannot take if you have diarrhea. I am confused, if diarrhea can be caused by parasites then why can't I do the cleanse? I do not know what to do. I have tried numerous things to stop the diarrhea but at the same time know I have it because my body is trying to clean from something. I have ruled everything but parasites out. I am more overwhelmed after reading from this site, you recommend so many things, I do not know where to begin. I am normally very healthy, always have regular "normal" bowl movements.
