Any eating tips?
‘Relieving the pressure.’
Yes, I like that, that’s how it feels.
I feel very comfortable with dry fasting, much more so than with water fasting. I felt a lot of benefit after last weekend’s effort.
But one has to be ready for it. A few years ago I did a 25-day
Water Fast for health reasons (immune) and really suffered, hardly able to stand up for about twenty of those days.
Thanks to intense sport and the corresponding mistake of a high carbohydrate diet, I started off already underweight and nutritionally/mineral deficient. And I thought I was healthy, lol.
I went down to 7.5 stone, over a quarter of my body weight gone. Definitely not recommended.
Interestingly, during that fast I did come across information for dry fasting but gave it absolutely no consideration. It obviously would not have been right for me at that time.
Deep down I know that I know what I am doing, even though the thinking me may have doubts.
That’s why when fasting my priority is always spiritual, learning to trust myself, and the world. Then everything will take care of its self.
So, I got a call yesterday and I start a new job on Monday so right now I am doing another short 40-hour dry fast.
It’s quite a difficult job and I have a twenty plus mile daily cycle commute (round trip) (and I’m not as young as I was) so I have decided to do a weekly 40-hour dry fast every weekend.
The problem/question is: what am I going to eat to get the calories.
I would love to go raw vegetable, but hey I’m a cyclist, give me pineapple juice over vegetable juice anytime and a nice home made bread pudding full of fruit.
I really feel I need to come off the sugars but I will need something.
On my list so far are millet, quinoa, and home made raisin spelt loaf (organic wholegrain). Juices (celery, cucumber apple, lemon/carrot, parsley apple/ melon), dates, almonds, raisins, cucumber and watercress.
I will be taking some supplements like spirulina.
Any tips to change my diet are welcome.
I’m sick of consuming sugar. That’s why I love dry fasting so much. I have no problem with not eating.
I have to be a bit careful because some foods can kill me, though I haven’t been able to work out which ones.
Recently, not able to afford the usual SunWarrior raw rice protein, I purchased some True Whey (Myprotein) and that had my lying on my bed for two days.
If anyone lives in East London and wants two large tubs (it’s good stuff apparently and not cheep) you’re welcome to it. Would not like to see it wasted.
Ps since that
Water Fast and with a corresponding Improvement in diet my immune problem has improved significantly.
Thank goodness I didn’t follow the doctor’s advice. (That’s for me of course; don’t want to cause anyone any problems.)
Anything can be overcome, but it’s tied in with one’s state of consciousness.
