Iodine on Tongue Adventure leads to Ear Curiosity & stuff

Yesterday I put a few of drops of 2% Lugols on my tongue and brushed it. It didn't hurt a bit, but a small line/crevice formed down the center of my tongue, and my tongue started bleeding at the end of the crevice. The next time I brushed my teeth and tongue, I refrained from applying any Iodine, but my tongue bled some more anyway. This morning I put more Iodine on my tongue, paying particular attention to the end that was bleeding, but there was no bleeding with the second application of Iodine.

Then I took a shower and got water in my ear. I was tempted to put Iodine in some hydrogen peroxide, or distilled water, and clean my ear out with it. But I decided to wait until the tongue experiment is over.

Has anyone else ever put Iodine on their tongue and experienced bleeding? Has anyone ever put Iodine in their ears? If so, how did you dilute it?

I have put some in my belly button a couple of times and can feel it traveling deep into my belly. The sensation is both comforting and frightening.
