Re: 7 Days & Done: A Successful Failure?

I just finished a 7 day fast myself. Was going for at least 21 days but like you work got in my way. I was getting pretty toxic and my work's sched changed in that I would need to be mentally clear and have to do a good bit of physical work for the next week. I don't have the luxury of taking off more than 5 days at a time. Right now I'm eating very clean and think my next fast will be in just over a week.

I see it as a great success for a couple of reasons.
I had never fasted beyond 30 hours. I was very interested in feeling what it felt like to not eat beyond a couple days. I was amazed when the hunger went away and my energy level was pretty good. My mind was fairly clear. I got quite bored actually. I learned that much of my eating was a mental habit for me and not a physical feeling. I had certain triggers that would make me eat even if I wasn't really hungry.

Even though it was only 7 days, it seemed to reset me as far as what I want to eat. Since I broke the fast, I have only been eating fruits, vegetables and tuna or salmon. I'm just not interested in anything else. I used to like to have a beer now and then, no interest in alcohol at all. I started out at 231 and 7 days later I weighed 220 and have maintained it so far.

I did a ton of research and have learned a bunch. I'm so glad that I stumbled onto this forum. I really needed this to get a grip on my health. Nope it's a plus for me. I can't wait to do the next one. Just have to get work to agree.
Good luck.
