Sounds like you had a lot of the symptoms I had. You might by hypothryoid ***type 2*** (HT2). You need to take your basal(resting) temperature. First thing in the morning put a glass thermometer ($10 at Walgreens/CVS) in you underarm for 10 minutes. If you are less then 97.6 you could be HT2.
Dr. Mark Starr has a great book called "Hypothyroidism Type 2." You can get a used copy cheap. I was tested for thyroid and my results were normal but the tests can detect only type 1. Hypothyroidism Type 1 is where you thyroid gland produces little or no hormone which is easily diagnosed. Hypothyroidism Type 2 is where your thyroid gland produces "normal" amounts of hormone but your body needs more! I thought I had CFS/FM for years. I suffered terribly. The biggest clue was my intolerance to cold + fatigue and my doctor's never put the pieces together.
I bought the above book, Lugol'sIodine and dessicated thyroid off the internet. Most of my symptoms have resolved or greatly improved.
Here's the radio interview that helped me self-diagnose after 9.5 years of suffering.
