Can Zapper actually cause parasites to multiply?

I heard that it is possible that a zapper can actually cause [certain] parasites to blow up and become two or more new organisms out of that single blown-up one. It's the same thing as an amoeba splitting.

While there are many zappers on sale and a lot of good testimony about them, I am wondering if the testimony is too early, before a greater problem (artificially split parasites multiplying) has been observed by the user.
