Re: Very Simple and Very Cheap Colloidal Silver Maker
if you raise the voltage then by basic physics V=IR
ohms law then i=v/r so must get huge currents flowing through the water generating large chunks of the silver hence the weird yellow and golden colors and also cause electrolysis
what these people are doing is generating high voltage and them limiting the current.they always talk about limiting the current with a resistor in series.
A FAVORITE ONE is :- 3 x 9 VOLTS = 27 VOLTS AND THEN USING A RESISTOR TO LIMIT THE CURRENT.
REALLY STUPID.
IT IS LIKE GIVING SOMEONE STILTS TO MAKE THEM TALLER AND THEN CUTTING THEIR LEGS OFF.
which is really, really stupid.
look:-
1000 volts divided by 100000 ohms =0.01 amps.
100 volts divided 10000 ohms = 0.01 amps.
or 10 volts divided by 1000 ohms = 0.01 amps.
same current every time.
so it is really retarded to generate a high voltage and them limit the current when you get the same current flow with a lower voltage.
coulombs law states it is CURRENT which generates the CS/electrolysis rate.
Voltage is simply the pressure to push a required a amount of current thru a resistive medium.
Look at the tap in your kitchen.what causes water tocome out? PRESSURE.
is pressure any good to you?
NO ! you use water to drinkwith, bath with, wash with....
of course you need a large voltage if have huge silver plates many square metres in size are if you are producing cs on a industrial scale and need large currents.
in this case you do need high currents and the current density would be low due to the large surface are of the many electrodes in parallel.
we are talking about domestic production of a cs generator which can be cobbled together from a garden solar light by AVERAGE JOE in 5 minutes.
AVERAGE JOE IN THE HOUSE.
