I believe that much of my situation has occured for a few reasons:
-
food sensitivities
- outright toxins (I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, but caffeine and other things are bad enough)
- stress
- emotional issues that are as yet unresolved
- lack of energy circulation in the body (connected to emotions, food and, of course, exercise)
food sensitivities and toxins: I'm eliminating dairy, wheat, sugar, caffeine, and we'll see what else, once I'm off of this fast. I'll be treating this as an opportunity to evaluate where my sensitivities are by slowly reintroducing foods to my body and monitoring the results. A diet that is as clean as possible will help to relax my system further and stop the input of garbage enough to help my body release the cyst. So far my blood pressure is back down to normal, my asthma has been significantly reduced, as has my eczema, my skin has cleared and is soft, my hair is silkier, my eyes are brighter, my running endurance is stronger, I sleep better, my outrageous muscle pain (tightness in my shoulder so bad it went down my arm) is almost a distant memory, and I've lost 14 pounds. If all that has changed, then other unseen positive changes must be occuring.
Stress and emotions: My job is very stressful and, at the worst of times, I feel it in my belly. My cyst makes its presence known at those points. I read somewhere that abdominal masses are like small unconscious shields...a psychophysiological manifestation of the desire to protect ourselves. For me this makes sense. I also have emotional reactions that I need to aleviate to help my body to not be in protection mode as much. Self-esteem and its biproducts can be a huge challenge that, if surpassed, can release much good health. Practising relaxation is also so important. What's interesting is that, though this fast, I've actually become more relaxed! Just goes to show you what some foods can do to affect the emotions.
Energy flow: I went to a Reiki practitioner and she said that my energy was very stagnant in my belly. In chinese medicine, they say that abdominal masses are usually the result of "stagnation of the liver/blood" which essentially means the same thing. Using common health sense, if you don't get the body moving, the body's ability to push the toxins out (through sweat, circulation, etc) is retarded. I think it's all related. I'm getting physical again. Running 3 times a week (improving every time!), working with a yoga instructor who is teaching me the moves and the yogic breathing techniques for energy circulation and relaxation, and taking a couple of spinning classes when there's time as well. Vitality will boost the energy flow, thus the excretion of toxins. I think all of the health benefits that I've realized have a lot to do with increased energy flow. Even without exercise and the rest, removing toxins will naturally remove blockages from your system.
Even if you see no change in the size of the fibroids over this 10 day period, as long as they haven't grown, you've got a good sign that you are in the right direction. You may need to do a few fasts over several months to a year, punctuated by a very clean diet, to see some major results, but don't let that discourage you. Again, if you've lived with them for this long, who cares if it takes as long to get rid of them?
