Hydrocortisone is what is usually recommended for adrenal fatigue. It makes all the difference for me and I have found that diving it up and taking it every 4 waking hours is best. (Google: stopthethyroidmadness.com those durn adrenals.)
You need to find a doctor who will do urine testing as blood testing can get you nowhere fast. If they argue - find someone else. That's what I had to do.
Dr. Michael Lam has a very helpful site on adrenals, thyroid & much else. There is Ask Dr. Lam here at CZ too.
If you can't get hydrocortisone from a doctor, or you feel you are not getting enough in your prescription, it is possible to get it from places like New Zealand under different brand names. It is really pricey that way though! (Not that I'd ever do something like that myself. Ahem! Cough! Cough! Well, I don't need to now that I have a doctor who listens.)
