Re: Do any of you have gerd/reflux?
EBV damages the liver, and causes an enlarged spleen. Do an internet search for "liver Epstein Barr Virus". After countless tests (and still no apparent cause) of chronically elevated liver enzymes, (even after gallbladder surgery), a Nurse Practitioner thought to look for EBV as a cause of the liver damage. And, sure enough, it was high for chronic/reactive EBV. Dr's claim there is nothing that can be done for a virus, and tell you to just take it easy when it flairs up. That's bologna. The Naturopath found not only EBV as a problem for me, but also CMV (cytomegalovirus, also of the herpes family like EBV is), and coinfections of Lyme. All of which damage the liver.
Deseret Biologicals specific Series Kits for each one of the things I tested for as priorities, did help both myself and my husband. The Nurse Practitioner that originally found the EBV in a blood test, was also right about it being "infectious". Lyme coinfections, viruses in the herpes family like the EBV, CMV, are passed from person to person, and like any other "transmitted disease", it will continue to be a problem if both are not tested and treated for it. It can also be passed among family members.
What people think is acid reflux, is often times bile reflux, and especially following gallbladder surgery.
