If you don't mind me asking, what State are you in? And, what type of testing does your practitioner use to have found the EBV still being a problem for you?
The types of tests that ND type practitioners use will catch things that medical Dr's blood tests, stool tests etc. won't. CMV should be checked also whenever EBV shows- they often times are found together. They are two of the main causes of Chronic Fatigue. Yes, your husband should also be tested for these specific things too.
It's important that your practitioner check for specific infections, especially if you will be using the Deseret Biologicals Series kits. For example, they do have a Series kit for "Lyme", but it is very important to also test for the other Lyme coinfections that are seperate Series kits on their own. Bartonella, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Brucella- just to name a few that are usually also associated with what people call "Lyme".
They also have a Series kit for H-Pylori, which helped my father alot. Have you ever been tested for H-Pylori? It can cause many of the same symptoms as the Bile Reflux too. My father also has no gallbladder, but he also tested positive for H-Pylori quite a few years ago, and did the rounds of
Antibiotics for it. However, we were told when he tested positive about 5 years after that, that once you've ever tested positive, tests will show a positive reading. To me that's bologna, and means it was never cleaned up with the
Antibiotics to begin with, or else there was a reinfection.
The one month H-Pylori series kit did help him.
The series kits can knock specific things out, but you have to make sure you keep testing every few months to verify that it's not a problem any more. Not talking about expensive Dr's blood tests either, I'm talking about the types of scanning machines, or muscle testing that Naturopathic type Dr's use.
Unfortunately, alot of people won't believe those types of tests as being accurate, unless they also are verified through other types of medical Dr's tests. I would trust the accuracy of these types of tests used by Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Naturopaths etc long before I'd spend the money to have Dr's tests done. Deseret Biologicals also has vials specifically for practitioners to use with muscle testing. There are also what are "degree vials" that are used with them. For example, if a person muscle tests for several different series kits- say EBV, Lyme, Bartonella, CMV--then the practitioner would then retest for each of those with the degree vial, showing which one is the priority to be treated. Is it a mild problem, a medium problem, or is it a high priority problem?
But, the key is finding a good practitioner that can pinpoint stuff accurately. If EBV is treated, and CMV is the higher priority problem that goes untreated, then your symptoms will continue and you'd think it was because it didn't work.
