Having a successful one time fast is not sufficient proof that the long time repucussions will not come.

I am sure the same happens once you reach that 11 day mark. As you will read in Sergey's book the final healing crisis occurs between 9 - 11 day, beyond that there is simply no point to carry on except for allowing your organism start consuming the good cells.

In the past 20 years, so much research has been done in Russia on dry fasting and no one ever suggested that you need to fast beyond 11 days. So that is what I was trying to tell you. I hope it is helpful and gives you some food for thought. My suggestion to you came from my heart. Dry fasting is a very powerful process and the consequences of doing it for too long might come up later in the years, according to Dr. Filonov.

To be fair to Sara she is only warning us of possible (long term) repuccusions so her intentions are good, its just she lacks the scientific evidence to back up what she says, and I've lacked the scientific evidence to back up what I'm saying.

As far as I'm aware Russia are the dry fasting leaders as their state invested time and money researching it as far back as Lenin's administration as they could see it could benefit their population, something the capitalist nations would never do as there is no money in it.

From what I gather Dr Filonov is (one of?) the most respected dry fasting practioners in Russia so we are very lucky to have his (almost) presence on this forum.

I can see why 11 days might be the safe limit because of acidosis, which after 11 days may get so severe that it starts to do irriversable damage, that doesn't explain how some people seem to be able to do much longer (even 70years) and have no ill side effects so far.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acidosis says :

In mammals, the normal pH of arterial blood lies between 7.35 and 7.50 depending on the species (e.g., healthy human-arterial blood pH varies between 7.35 and 7.45). Blood pH values compatible with life in mammals are limited to a pH range between 6.8 and 7.8. Changes in the pH of arterial blood (and therefore the extracellular fluid) outside this range result in irreversible cell damage.

I have no idea if it is true that 11 days is the limit but I don't feel like disagreeing with one of Russia's experts so I would never go beyond that point myself, and I think that more or less thats what Sara was trying to get at, and now I think a 'spiritual fasting' forum would suit her interests better.

I am a bit baffled as to why Anne still wants to do 14 days dry but it is none of my business and she's been made aware of the potential dangers by this forum, I can't imagine how she could have a better understanding of the internal bodily processes than Dr Filonov but you never know.
