As much compassion as you can muster. That's what we should bring to anyone who's mistaken and causing us pain because of it. He just doesn't know better.
On the positive side, he means well. He just wants you to be well and is worried.
Make sure you have as much objective information about your illness as you can to combat this sort of thing, though. Some folks will latch onto their beliefs and not be swayed by proof, but others will listen. Get cortisol level readings.
Also, keep a diary of your symptoms. And all health-related things like diet, sleep, exercise, supplements. This will help you correlate what's working for you as well as provide a better understanding of your illness to yourself and others.
I hope that study you found does some good in helping him to see this is a genuine problem.
