Re: Thirst is NOT a good indicator of dehydration

If there are several to be considered then why don't you enlighten us so people know what to look out for so they can fast safely? And maybe list them in order of importance.

I have noted the following symptoms to be as of dehydration:
urine dark yellow or orange
feel really weak
a feeling something is wrong and that if you carry on then you will die
can not sleep
can not rest
feel really irritable
only have negative emotions
a headache - but can happen any time
immune system healing almost non existant

if you get to that point then you have gone TOO far!

A good indicator of when to stop is when your urine darkens some more and you start feeling weak and your immune system healing seems to no longer be very active, a couple of sips of water every hour at that point would prolong the healing for longer.

The best is probably urine colour, but I have had very dark urine when Water Fasting on 2 litres a day - so explain that one !! :-\
