Re: Post removal symptoms or medication reaction?

I hope I can help with a few of these. I am 3 years post mirena. I had to go on blood pressure meds to deal with the side-effects at the time of removal and for about a year after. I was on atenolol. Also I had a baby a little over a year ago, and had pre-eclamplsia and was put on 2 other bp meds at that time - procardia and labetalol.

- Weepy (initially - OK hormonal can relate) - Mirena, no doubt.

- Internal tremble (weird only inside nothing visible) - a common Mirena symptom

- Stabbing head pains (not headache, come and go) - I had this when I was on procardia/labetolol. Not sure which of them caused it, but I do remember that.

- Head feels bruised (internally) - Don't know about this one, but had a dull headache with the BP meds.

- Crushing pressure in head and jaw (horrid) - Maybe someone else can chime in on this?

- Crackling, congested ears (bad for 3 mths) - I've seen this as a mirena complaint here.

- Burning nostrils (feel like have inhaled acid) - no ideas on this one, but I've heard of sinus issues?


- Hard to breathe / get enough air (drinking seems to help)-Mirena definately. I had that early on, and it flares up rarely yet. I know there's been several ladies who have mentioned drinking as well for "numbing" symptoms.

Which medication are you on? I know it can be frustrating not knowing what the exact cause is, and having the doctors think you're crazy. Were you on the BP meds before having the mirena, or did your BP go up while having it (like so many of us). Just last week my BP spiked for no reason, and now it's come back down to normal, so this has been an ongoing Mirena side effect, and it's maddening.
