You are right about doing your own research. Some doctors seem to be threatened by it and treat you as if you are really foolish to even research. Then there are the doctors like my primary that I saw yesterday that told me that I seem to really be informed and that I should become a nurse and come and work with his office. Just recently I had a test for aldosterone/renin tht came back normal. But then I learned from a dr. that is an expert in this area that taking the test on blood pressure meds (some of them & the one that I was on) can cause a false negative. I have almost every symptom for over production of aldosterone caused by an adrenal tumor. When I approached the endocrinologist with the information that was found on the lab websites he said that it wasn't so and that I have no endocrine problem even though I have an adrenal mass and calification on my thyroid. I just want to be tested properly and know what has been making me ill for over 4 years.
