New Discovery: Cure forces cancer cells to commit suicide
This is both disturbing and inspiring, all at the same time:

The drug is found to revive the energy producing components of human cells allowing the cells to work normally again.
The most interesting thing?
The drug has been around for decades, can be produced for pennies per dose, seems to have no side effects (has been used to treat rare inherited human conditions for decades) but because it has NO PATENT, big pharmaceutical companies are not interested in funding the FDA research required to make it available to cancer patients in the United States.
Bottom line is, if the pharmaceutical companies can't own the patent, they can't drive the prices up, they can't make money — so they'd rather spend their cash investing in other drugs they CAN patent.
It's too bad our gov't doesn't have some sort of requirement for big pharmacy to donate a small portion of their earnings into non-patented or not-for-profit clinical trials.
Currently research is funded through philanthropic donations.
If you haven't seen this yet, be sure to watch the video!
Now for the begging question: If you or someone you love has cancer and feel helpless, would you not consider buying this low-risk drug direct from the chemistry labs for pennies?
That seems to be the 1st thought that comes to my mind and apparently I'm not the only one.
