Re: What makes it a Dry Fast?

The longest dry fast I have completed so far was 9.5 days, after which I transitioned to water and completed a 40-day combined fast on April 18th of this year.

Prior to it I dry fasted for 36 hrs, 72 hrs and 5 days. In all the research I have done and from speaking with dry fast medical specialist such as Dr. Filonov in Russia, in order to heal you have to reach at least 5 days, but the ideal length is 11 days, particularly for those who have pathologies. Of course I would not recommend it for anyone. You have to train yourself and be educated on various processes your body goes to to be safe.

Currently I am dry fasting for 18 hours per day to prepare for an 11 day dry fast which I plan to conduct in a very near future. And my ketostix show the ketosis starts before 18 hours.

If if interested you can read my blog on http://www.fastingconnection.com/therapeutic-dry-fasting-moderated-by-empress...
