Re: Blood in Stool after Enema - Go to Doctor or No?
at this point i bet a doctor would just give you an antibiotic. he might refer you to someone for a colonoscopy but it would be at least days away. he would also tell you to stop doing enemas.
if i were you i would stop messing with your bowels and go on a juice fast or fruit fast for a few days. let things heal on their own without stressing things more.
if you think it's serious enough to go to the doctor, then go. but it doesn't sound like you are there yet.
i bet you scraped your colon wall with the hose. or maybe used too much ACV. is there pain or cramping?
the only time i've ever bled from an enema was the third or fourth time that i used a colema board. it holds the hose stationary and has you slide onto it. a really stupid design. i must have moved and caught the hose tip against my colon wall. i have not used a colema board since and i didn't go to the doctor.
as far as enemas, i have an enema hose tip on the end of my hose. it prevents the hose from entering more than 2.5 - 3
inches. with this design, i can still take about 2.5
quarts into my colon and i can feel that the water has also reached my ascending colon and is a 'high' enema. i don't think i would like to 'snake' a hose up my colon. others on this forum use just a hose and do just fine, but not me.
let us know how things are going. sorry that this happened.
