Post Master Cleanse: Water Retention or Lowered Metabolism?

Hello All,
I am at a standstill. I did The Master Cleanse for 7 days last June and my body has been different ever since. Upon completion, there was no weight loss at all. I felt cleansed though and kept up with the salt water flushes once or twice a week. In August, I started noticing abdominal bloating and weight gain in my lower and upper hips. One night after a SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) in mid- September, my legs and feet swelled up so bad I panicked. Resulting in 10 lbs of water weight gain. Almost a yr later, I have dropped 5 of those pounds but can not shed the other half no matter what. Obviously I stopped the salt water flushes and went to doctors who did not offer any advice. I've also tried a low carb diet, cutting out all salt, Sugar and gluten, juicing. No matter what I do, I still have saddlebags and bigger hips than I ever have. Not to mention, I walk 2-7 miles per day.
My question is: could this be due to water retention? If so, how do I heal my kidneys? Or did I slow down my metabolism from this drastic diet and lack of protein? How can I reverse this?! I'm at my wit's end and would appreciate any knowledge and advice.
Thank you in advance.
