My sense is that as far as atrophy from adrenal cortex/concentrate, that's nothing you need worry about unless you are taking it for long periods, ie. 6 months or more. Short term use is fine, and may be good support.
Rhodiola is an adaptagen, so even though it is thought to be better for high cortisol, part if what it does is nourish and calm the adrenals and so they don't overreact to stress. Very important whether you have high or low cortisol. So I would say it's ok. Let us know how you feel after taking this for awhile. Maybe stay with this for awhile before adding Maca. Sounds like you don't really trust your doctor? Get another, or give this one some time. It won't happen overnight, but if this product is right for you, you will gradually feel better.
