Re: Need to increase calories?

My answer is not official, but is based on my own experience and my outlook on health and life.

I say keep eating. When I completely crashed a few months ago and began AF recovery, I ate about 6,000 calories a day and did not exercise at all. (This was after years of overtraining and being underweight. And I'm a 5'4" female who weighs 100 pounds soaking wet, on a good day.) After a few weeks of this I had only gained a small amount of weight. Now, several months later into recovery, my appetite is back down to normal and I've been able to do small amounts of walking and running again.

I don't think you'll harm your body by eating and resting, especially if you are someone who overtrained. It takes a LOT of nutrients to heal.
