Effect of n-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) on candida and mercury?
I can't take chlorella (I puke it up if I try), so I'm taking vitamin C, E and I just added n-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) last night.
Well, after my first attempt with n-acetyl-cysteine... wow. Very noticeable symptoms. Are they candida itself or is it die-off from candida? I'm actually taking antifungals at the same time (garlic, grapefruit seed extract, and oil of oregano) but they actually gave me very little die-off. On the other hand, just adding the n-acetyl-cysteine (500mg, one dose only, poured into water since I can't swallow capsules) produced very powerful symptoms that are undeniable.
I'd read opposing points of view, both that n-acetyl-cysteine helps candida grow, and that it helps the body fight it off.
So which is it? Is n-acetyl-cysteine good to take? Is it helping, hurting, are these temporary symptoms? Should I use something else instead to fight off mercury? (DMSA is not sold at my local Whole Foods or GNC, and I'd rather stick with natural chelators at the moment. I can't yet use ALA since I just had my
Amalgams taken out March 31)
