Re: Weekly Fasts

Hi WaterFastSix,

In my opinion this is not a good way to go.

Too much is invested in autolysis/ketosis only to interrupt it for so short a time before re-engaging. Particularly i would hate to see the autolysis interrupted since the benefits are said to become progressively greater the longer we proceed (ie: a single 30 day fast is quite a bit more beneficial than 5 separate six-day fasts).

Also, if i'm going to endure the first 2 or 3 days which are often the most difficult days of fasting (perhaps until the final day!), i'd like to fast for as long as reasonably possible. In most cases physical appetite is nonexistent after 2 or 3 days and by 6 days we are coasting. The 6/1 plan would in all likelihood reawaken hunger each and every cycle and would thus be so much more difficult a strategy to endure.

I would rather see you fast longer (like say about 25-35 days) and then entertain a correspondingly longer period of healthful, nutrient replenishing re-feeding (like say about 40-70 days),

... or to go another way entirely by fasting intermittently such as 19/5 or 16/8 each day or something like 24 hours fasting alternating with 24 hours feeding. For me, 16/8 is very comfortable. I've been doing it for about 5 weeks now and i believe i may have embraced this as a lifestyle. It's been easy for me to continue the fast begun in my sleep for a few additional hours, especially after a couple days of acclimating to it.
